STAMFORD, CONNECTICUT  (Sept. 10, 2018)

Global Lyme Alliance (GLA), the leading 501(c)(3) dedicated to conquering Lyme and other tick-borne diseases through research, education and awareness, has been chosen to participate in the Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day,  September 11, 2018Rosanna Scotto, co-host of " Good Day New York," on Fox 5 NY WNYW in  New York City, will serve as GLA's celebrity ambassador at the event.

Each year, Cantor Fitzgerald and its affiliates, BGC Partners and GFI Group, in conjunction with the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, commemorate their 658 friends and colleagues and 61 Eurobrokers employees who perished on  September 11, 2001, by distributing 100% of their global revenues on Charity Day to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and participating charities. The celebrity ambassadors come to the trading floor to conduct trades on the phone with clients, guided by a Cantor broker.

"We are honored to participate in this year's  Charity Day," said GLA's CEO  Scott Santarella. "So many deserving charities are doing important work to help the lives of others and we are delighted that GLA has been recognized as one of them. Lyme disease is one of the most underfunded and stigmatized diseases and a health risk to all of us, but especially our children. Extending a helping hand to those suffering from Lyme and other tick-borne diseases is a very powerful way to continue to memorialize those who died on 9/11."

Charity Day participation is determined by Cantor Fitzgerald's senior management and is based on a number of qualifying factors. Last year, Cantor Fitzgerald, BGC Partners and GFI Group raised  $10 million and since its inception,  Charity Day has raised  $147 million globally. All of the charities represented at the event will receive a donation from the total amount raised. "I am thrilled to be representing Global Lyme Alliance on  Charity Day," said Scotto. "GLA is working diligently to develop reliable Lyme diagnostics, better treatments and ultimately find a cure for this insidious disease. I expect it will be a meaningful experience."
