Dear Friends & Supporters,
A year ago, I wrote to you about a pivotal moment for Lyme disease research. While federal funding remained uncertain, we were determined to ensure that scientific progress would continue.
Thanks to supporters like you, it has.
Over the past year, Global Lyme Alliance has invested in research aimed at improving diagnostics, advancing new therapeutic approaches, and deepening our understanding of the biological mechanisms that drive Lyme disease and persistent illness. We have focused our support on the field's most critical unmet needs, advancing innovative science, strengthening essential research infrastructure, and pursuing transformative approaches with the potential to change the way Lyme disease is understood, diagnosed, and treated. We also launched our Early Career Investigator Program to help cultivate the next generation of Lyme researchers, an investment not only in today's science, but in tomorrow's discoveries.
Today, we have an opportunity to build on that momentum. Our 2026 grant cycle has attracted an outstanding group of proposals addressing some of the most important unanswered questions in Lyme and other tick-borne diseases. I am encouraged by both the quality of science and the growing number of talented researchers choosing to devote their careers to this field. The opportunity is extraordinary, and our ability to seize it depends on the resources available.
Your generosity enables GLA to support the most promising science, accelerate discoveries, and bring us closer to the breakthroughs that can transform patient care.
Thank you for your continued partnership and belief in our mission. Together, we are shaping the future of Lyme disease research.
If you would like to learn more about GLA's research program, our funding priorities, or this year's grant cycle, please don't hesitate to reach out.
With gratitude,
